Tenting for termites

So my place has to be tented for termites and I was wondering if anyone here has any advice ...

My plan is to move my tank (I only have a 40B) and set it up offsite, running a HOB skimmer and some circulation pumps and leaving the stand, sump, tubing, behind ...

How long would you wait before bringing it back home? Are safe levels for humans safe for reefs? Normally I presume not, so if they tell me I can move back in in 48 hrs how long would you wait before bringing back the tank?

What about my peripherals ... salt boxes, pumps, etc. If it's sealed will it be fine? Or do I need to move everything out?

For the PVC, tubing, sump I'm leaving behind ... How long before this stuff could be replugged into the system?

If it doesn't have to be moved, should I clean it with something? Would a vinegar bath be sufficient?

Thanks in advance!

I had the same issue last year. I moved the sump and the fish to a different location since they are the one absorbing most of the oxygen. Then I wrapped the tank and the overflow plumbing with kitchen plastic wrap with the corals, invert and the power heads. After they were done, i waited for a day of aeration before I reopened the tank. Everything was fine. I took all of my equipment out of the apartment as well to be safe. Good luck

I kept my tank running while they tented. its a 300g and i used a tarp and ran in air from the outside. No loses at all this way.
Since you can move the tank that is what I would do.

If its safe for humans its safe for fish. the gas they use is not very water soluble and I took the tarp off as soon as we were cleared to return

Also I keep a 40g in my garage to QT and keep cuttings and a few pcs of LR. I turned off the power head and the hang on filter and the corals were fine after tenting. I really dont think the gas can harm corals but it can definatly kill fish and motile inverts.
It did kill a few hermits which eventually fouled the water.

Hey JC2005,

I ended up packing up everything and moving it to another location and I waited 72hours after the all clear to move everything back in. The move took a little bit longer than expected and the temp spike in the bucket I think caused me to lose the few sps colonies that I had. Otherwise pretty much everything else made it! Thanks for the advice -
