Tenting house question

Ill be tenting my house and would like to know what steps should i take to protect my tank and live stock. Please help, thanks.

My first thought is to evacuate anything and everything having to do with the tank. But I'll be interested to hear what everyone else says. I may be facing this issue myself in the next few years and am already categorizing my friends by how many totes of water they will take. [emoji56]

I have searched through this topic and spoke with Lulio who actually did it. Seems the best way is to encapsulate your aquarium and then supply positive pressure from outside the tent with a good air pump. If you search enough you can see photos. Some folks just seal the top of the aquarium while others make like a bubble covering the entire thing from floor up. I would probably run 2 or 3 lines in and then 1 or 2 back out so it would actually circulate fresh air in while still keeping the positive pressure. Just make sure you create some water movement and dont run your lights. Most of the outcomes I have seen were fine with proper planning.

Tenting company told me I dont have to cut power. And you can run powerheads (or even return pump) on/off with apex or similar controller.

I did mine a few months ago. I forgot the name of the clear nylon I used but it was given to me by the termite company. You can purchase it at Home Depot. You don't have to cut power to the Aquarium but do shut your lights off. I borrowed one of those huge commercial air pumps and pumped fresh air from the outside. The Aquarium had an entire bubble around it taped to the floor. The only problem I had was the temp running a bit high since they force you to shut your AC off. What I would do is set your AC at 80 that way your house won't get too hot. I did mine this way and didn't loose a single thing during the tenting.

I did this also. I sealed the top with plastic and packing tape, turned off all lights and pumps, ran a air pump with a stone from the outside of the tent into the tank, which created positive pressure inside the tank and plastic. I made sure the air pump was covered from any rain. I also planned to do it in the cooler months so tank wouldnt get overheated. It worked fine.

You can also run your air cooler the day prior to get your house colder, but with cooler months ahead this shouldnt be an issue

I just had this done last week. I moved everything outside from my 100g reef savvy to a rubber made stock tank in the back yard. I left the tank up running (pumps on) lights off with a few polyps, 1 snail and a few pieces of blue ridge coral in the tank. All survived. Would I of left my entire live stock in there...NO. I be worried about C02 build up if it was encapsulated.

Well heres the update. I was able to get all the fish out so no death there. Sad news is that i lost all of my coral So now i have to start all over again. I already did a major cleaning on the tank so just in the re-cyling process. If anyone has frag for sale please let me know. (Monto caps, mushrooms, frogspawns, torches, bubble tips) thanks
