territorial tang

I have a tang that is being territorial ( i think) and attacking my newly added cleaner shrimp. when i moved the cleaner shrimp to the other side of the tank, the tang seemed to ignore him more. the cleaner shrimp is very active though, and i'm afraid he will go back over to the tang's territory. the tang is about 2-3". i was wondering if i remove the tang to a different tank for about a week, and then reintroduce him, if that would stop the territory dispute and he would leave the cleaner alone. thanks.

You can try that or just move the rocks around a little bit to disrupt his territory.

Yeah, I wudnt put him through the stress of a tank move. Just move the rocks and hope the shrimp will learn a lesson
