I have an Aquarium pharmaceuticals test kit for all my testing. Last weekend I saw a Jungle quick dif test kit it uses stips that you just dip in the water and they test for Am, Nitrate, Nitritem Alk and PH. I wasn't sure if it was a gimic or really worked so I use it now aftermy testing with my AP test kit.

The jungle strip shows Nitrate at 20 and my Aquarium pharmaceuticals kit shows it at 0 Which should I beleive.??

Also is either kit any good..??

Thanks

first, test strips are completely a gimic imo. I've never had one be even close to what the real numbers are.

Aquarium pharmeceuticals is ok...they've been pretty accurate with me, except for the amonia is kinda hard to read...you have to hold it up to sunlight to really see the colors.

But imo, just get salifert...then you'll know its right.

I bought a sailfert nitrate kit just to see h ow much better than Aquarium pharmaceuticals it was. I didn't really like it for 2 very small reasons. The instructions were wrong. It somes with two Syringe's (my numbers might be off here) a 1 ML and a 2 ML and the instructions ask you to use the 5 ML Syringe and only fill it to 2 ML. anyways that kinda annoyed me. the second small thing is the card they give you with the colors on it is not water proof. Its just paper. I gotit wet the first use and it kinda got crappy. Aquarium pharmaceuticals uses plastic cards water proof.

Aquarium pharmaceuticals on the other hand all the colors to match look exactly alike. I cant tell if I have too much of something or to little at times/.

well...i suggest you go back to the saliferts. I really dont see why those 2 small things would make you use the AP ones instead, other than the chart being ruined from water. Oh, and those AP cards are not water proof. More water proof than the paper, yes, but not completely.

obviously the goal of a test kit is accurancy and Iwant to use the most accurate I can so when my AP test kit runs out I will use Sailfert but Iwas supprised how un impressive they were I was expecting gold coated test kit or something
