Anyone ever kept Turtle grass in their aquariums? I am thinking about it for my 120G FOWLR but have no idea how well it would work. I am assuming that this stuff is easy to care for and will probably take over the tank...but I could be very wrong of course! Had a hard time getting much info on the stuff being kept in tanks. Anyone?

Also, where you got it from would be great.

Easy to care for and will take over your tank - probably not. If you want to find out about the care of seagrasses there are plenty of good threads in this forum that you can search through. If you're looking for something that you don't have to do anything special to keep alive, there are plenty of species of caulerpa that will proliferate quickly with no special care.

I have Thallasia doing fairly well in my tank, click on my red house for a link to my tank build thread. It was purchased at an ebay seller Exoticaquaticsandpets. My first plant has just recently begun to send up new shoots, its been in there almost a year. Recently I added abunch more and they are all doing wonderfully.

OK...what types of macro algae are safe to keep around fish? I am looking to add green to the tank. I know some go a-sexual and can hurt fish...from what I have heard.

If you want to keep your tank a reef environment stick to the non-aggressive macro that is suggested in that article: Halimeda, Udotea, Ulva, Gracilaria and Sargassum could all be potentially great additions given good light and enough nutrients. These five flourish in most reef systems.
