The Canon D2X....

Your thoughts on it ? I'm getting one very soon and I would like the opinion of those who have used one before !

Does Canon HAVE a D2x??? I've never heard of it and neither had DPreview. I think you are buying a Nikon. I got excited for a second...

If it's a Nikon I would check the new non pro releases D700 or D300 which seems ot outperform it. also the D3 is also a great option

You mean the Nikon D2X. It's a great camera...I would LOVE to have one. It was replaced ultimately by the D3. The D2X is a solid camera body much like all of it's predecessors (D2H, D1x, etc) and was the "top performer" in Nikon's line for a while (until the D3 and semi-pro D700 both of which are full frame versus the D2X and below which are crop sensors).

And I'm getting it for FREE so I'm not scoffing at it ! And I'm going to use my D1X as my spare rig for when I'm out in the field in a pinch and need a camera.

Its a great camera. I bought it for my GF as a Bday gift and used it for about a year. excellent pic quality but a little heavy! She took it with her when she split with me.

I want to buy one more but too many $$$.
