The Good Kind of Hydroids?

I have what I think to are referred as hydroids. Not the kind that look like polyps and come from the rocks, but the ones that look like little brittle stars on my glass. They kind of just look like a type of copepod. But from my research these come up as hydroids as well as the stinging coral type.

Are these good and does anything eat them?

No they aren't those little white starfish.

By your description it sounds like the harmless variety and they will go away as the tank matures. So far I've set up a 65gal, 210gal, 30gal, and now a 80gal system, the only time I had them was in my 210 which used Walt Smith LR direct from the wholesaler.
They were everywhere at the time and all my searching turned up was "hydroids" and most of the consensus was harmless. As I recall they looked like a miniature snowflake and caused no ill effects to the tank and eventually went away on their own.

I think they are neat to watch them move around the water "jellyfish style"
But yes they are harmless and will come and go
