The New Frag Tank

I have finally set up the new frag tank. This has been a slower build as I have another tank that I maintain but it's getting full so this past weekend I put the new one all together. The older tank on the left has been up and running for 9 months now and because it's an sps grow out tank, it has its own challenges. Right now I'm dealing with algae issues and have beefed up my CUC to deal with the problem. I purposely allowed the tank to go off the rails temporarily because I was seeing bacteria issues or lack there of. Also took gfo/carbon and skimmer offline for 2 weeks to build up some nutrients. This tank was moved at the end of November and went into a mini cycle because the tank and sump had enough time to dry out during the move hence causing bacteria issues. Anyways, back to the frag tank. I finally got the sump on Saturday and began to plumb everything immediately. I had the stand built a few weeks ago when I picked up the tank. I had and eheim 1262 on the shelf and a brand new BM Curve 7 that I bought 2 years ago for a different build that never happened. I had rock brewing in a Rubbermaid for quite a while so I added that and grabbed a few rocks from the other sump to seed the tank and have added a few frozen cuttlefish to get things rolling. If your wondering why I have such a big sump under there, it's because once the tank is cycled and established I will be eliminating the old sump and tying the old tank into the new sump and removing the old sump. Everything is a bit of a mess right now but in time it will all come together.

The new frag tank: 48"x18"x7"
New sump: 48"x21"x18"
Pump: Eheim 1262
Skimmer: BM Curve 7

Thanks for looking!

Looks great! The two systems are not connected right? I am trying to determine if I am going to connect my frag tank to my main display or not. I would like to but I am afraid it is going to be too risky with my current situation. If I don't I will need separate dosing pumps, skimmer...etc.

Eventually the tank on the left will be using the sump on the right. The space under the stand will be used for the 2 tanks (far left) and dosing pump + ATO container and gfo/carbon reactor. I am hesitant with this idea because if the system crashes you end up losing everything. I have a few months to decide anyways.
