The relationship between algae and tap water is true

For a long long time I had been using tap with conditioners as it was convenient and cheap. I had always been fighting algae on the glass and rocks (for years). Algae always built up in days and I thought this was normal. Then I built a nano tank and due to the size of water volume, tried our RO unit for the home (the one we have in the sink). Why? Water changes and evaporation replacement in the nano was no big deal, so I thought what the heck I'll stand if front of the sink holding the RO on button for a few minutes and give this a shot.

Result: Immediately (within 24 hours, my nano tank looked ultra clean, sparkeling clean). Continued to use RO on nano for two weeks and no alage on acrylic sides, no algae of rocks, corals look very healthy and water crystal clear).

I know there must be a lot of tap water users here (for the same reasons I used tap). So tap water users -- especially if your in Southern California -- let me tell ya that my opinion on RO water has changed 100%. RO only for me.

You think RO is good. Use RODI for a while, the results will only get that much better. Using water that test 0 for TDS is best. I used well water one time in an emergency for 2 days and I had an algae bloom 3 days later that lasted for a month until my next water change killed it along with a half photoperiod for a week.
