After your a hobbyist for a while every now & then you think of something that need to be manufactured to make things easier . What your invention or improvement.
I'll start:
An Accordian type heater a heater that you can accommodate in your sump or aquarium , it can be made small or stretch to a specific size.
2 A box heater a simple square heater that sits on the bottom of the aquarium or in a small compartment in your sump

I can see the benefit of a box heater over the long tube kinds for limited space.

What would be the advantage of the accordian style heater? Why would a person ever want to make it larger, for example?

1. HOB closed loop unit (kind of like a powerfilter from the freshwater days...).

2. A salt mix that comes out to 420 Ca and 9-10 Alk at 1.025.

I want test kits where everything is done by simply dipping a little thingy in the water and looking at it. No more mixing, waiting, steps 1 through 9, etc.

one unit that has one probe that will test everything you will ever want to test in your tank.. and under $10 for the whole thing HAH

i agree with the test kits, no more color charts just numbers like the salifert ca/alk test. and a company that makes all their kits accurate instead of just a few.

I have mentioned this before, a powerhead that look like a liverock, I know Tunze have a rock cover but doesn't look real close enough to liverocks IMO.

Or rather, make everything that goes into a SW tank look like liverocks. The colour need not be replicated as coralline will take care of it, just the shape is good enough.

How about a rotating powerhead. Like a zoomed powersweep, only it works .

Powerheads that comes with impeller and propeller and a easy conversion kit.
Accordian heater stretched for aquariums without sumps, you can run the heater behind the rocks.

Compact flourescent actinic lights not power compact; for nano reef or for those who just used actenic for the blue color.
use about 9-13watts.

Like the look like rock idea

Solar powered cooling fans for metal halide fixture.
The light from the fixture cause the fan to work, whaen the lights are off no need for cooling.
You probably could be a diy project maybe convert one of those garden solar lights.
