I have been debating whether or not to start an agg. fish only tank. I have the option between a 90gal and 125gal and I was looking for some input on what type of fish get for it. I would i would love to put a shark in it put I dont know if a 90 or a 125 would be large enough. what should I put in it?

You might get more responses to this post if you placed it under the "Fish only and Aggressive tanks thread." If you already have then my bad :).
I would love to give specific advice but I'm a noob also. The one piece of advice that I can give you (regardless of how helpful it may be) is that you should get the largest tank you can afford as your options for adding livestock become more flexible with larger volumes of water.
Out of curiosity, what kinds of fish were you planning to add? Live Aquaria.com has a large selection of fish for you to start browsing if you are clueless.
One final piece of advice is to thoroughly research each species of fish that you are planning to add to your tank.

With a FO, the larger the better. I love my FO.

1) I can keep salinity around 1.023 meaning less salt usage

2) I do not have to worry about nitrates as fish do not seem to care about elevated nitrate.

3) I still use bioballs for biological filtration which means no live rock and more room for my fish to swim.

4) Lighting and water flow is not much of a concern since there are no corals.

5) Do not need a clean up crew as I do not care much about nitrates.

Don't get me wrong, corals are beautiful. But I am very content just taking care of my fish. I have a Harlequin Sweetlips, a Raccoon Butterfly, a Picasso Trigger, a small dwarf angel and a goofy little yellow tail damsel I've had since the tank started. I only have a 72 gal but have no room currently for a bigger tank. I wish I did. My sweetlips is getting too big for my tank.

I would say the bigger the better for FO. :)

2 questions Billy, how does your picasso do in a tank that size (how big is he) and how does it get along with the butterfly, which is a fairly peaceful, non-aggressive fish, right?

They all get along great. My Picasso is about 6 inches nose to tail.

I think the secret to housing aggressive fish is to make sure you give each one their own place to sleep.

Once they establish their territories, all is well. :)
