I got in a shipment of anthias and tangs on Tuesday and one of the anthias has this on it.

It also looks like two of them may be getting ich. So the question is what do I need to buy to treat them. I have coppersafe for the ich but what about the other problem in the pic? Headed to fish store in a few but I don't trust them to lead me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert by any means, but it looks like uronema. Had it with blue green chromis one time. It spread quickly and killed them all. I just read a recommendation to euthanize instead of exposing the other fish, or do a fresh water dip to try to fight it. Uronema is a parasite, but I would expect a bacterial infection to set in also from the damage it causes.

You can suppress the secondary infection with hydrogen peroxide applications (out of water). You'll still need to treat for uronema though, which, as stated earlier, is more often than not a killer.

Well the fish didnt make it through the night!!!! I have treated the water with Furan 2 in hopes to keep it from spreading. Should I be concerned that my 4 yellow tangs that are in the same QT are going to get this? So now I have 4 anthias and 4 yellow tangs in the tank. I have a freind lending me a 16 gallon to remove the anthias and put them alone to see what happens but I am still really concerned for my Tangs.:(

Also I have been trying to find any info on Urenoma and havent had any luck. Where can I read up on this KILLER?
