ORCA President 2007~2008
Hello Everyone,
This months ORCA meeting will be Saturday, August 25th.
David and Kari Kosuchowski will be hosting the meeting. Directions are on the ORCA Website
Doors open at 6:00 PM
Meeting starts at 7:30 PM
This month’s presentation will be on building your own sumps and other interesting projects by David K.
David is an avid DIY’r and extremely knowledgeable about building aquarium related projects out of acrylic.
Get ready for an awesome raffle! I’ve got some really cool stuff lined up including an autographed copy of Sprung & Delbeek’s Vol 3.
Shortly following the raffle will be our traditional frag event. To those members who plan to bring frags, please feel free to post your frag pictures here for other members to view prior to coming to the meeting.
*** Frag Auction Rules MUST READ*** Please adhere to these rules. There will be no exceptions.
1. Limit of 25 Frags brought to auction by any one (1) family membership. (215 + 215F = a family membership)
2. Frags must be checked in by 7:15 PM
3. Using a Black Sharpie marker or pre-printed waterproof label, mark clearly the frag description. What’s written on the bag must be what’s in the bag. Correct polyp count etc. Do not misidentify the frag.
4. Do not bring any more than three (3) of any one specific type of coral.
5. If we receive multiple complaints from members regarding any one member who’s bringing frags to auction there will be an investigation and action taken by the Board.
6. Do not bring Fish to the frag auction.
*** Deceiving or taking advantage of fellow hobbyists will not be tolerated. :fun2:
If you have known parasites like Flatworms (planaria) or Red bug (Tegastes acroporanus) in your aquarium please refrain from bringing any frags to the auction. Please respect your fellow hobbyists and only contribute healthy pest free animals.
Marcye at Sea in the City has graciously offered to give ORCA members as many bags as they need. Simply stop by Sea in the City and pick them up.
The frequency and quality of our meetings ultimately resides with each and every ORCA member. Let’s all work together and make 2007 the best year ORCA has seen yet!
See everyone on Saturday August 25th!
