I'm building a new tank just for a peacock and coral and hopefully a fish or two. The tank 24"x18"x20" with 1/2" starphire glass? This sound good or is it too small? also are there other super colorful mantis that are smaller?

Sounds fine. That is plenty of water, I think.

There are smaller colorful mantis -- check out Odontodactylus havanesis or Gonodactylaceus ternatensis. Both are "one step down" in size from peacocks. You may also want to consider a spearer, like a yellow Pseudosquilla ciliata.

I plan on having a couple fish so a spearer is out of the question. I have a N wennerae and might just throw her in this tank but I want another kinda of mantis they are too cool
