is it true they need high light and are they also nitrate eaters?

I dont' know about the nitrates but since they're filter feeders and don't photosynthesize they don't need light. One may need supplemental feeding in a tank.

thats what i thought about the light but some customer tried telling me i need to put them under halides and i was shocked honestly
