Thorny Oyster

I've had one. They grow all over the wrecks and reefs here in Florida. Some have all sorts of feather dusters, corals and other growth on them. Because of all the critters that grow on them, I wouldn't think of putting one in my display w/o quarentine. They are non-photosynthetic filterfeeders that will gradually starve to death in most aquariums (IMO). I wound up returning mine to the reef.

these guys are almost impossible to keep for extended periods and will require daily ( if not more ) feedings with phytoplankton to have a chance, but still no guarantees.

IMO, best left in the ocean.
