Thoughts on Inland Aquatics?

Would love to hear some info and opinions on Inland Aquatics. I am thinking of making the drive down south to purchase a pair of Orchid Dottybacks and possibly some other critters this spring. Anyone have stories to share?

Inland is a great trip to make for a serious selection of corals and other livestock. The facilities are huge and it's hard not to walk out with bags and bags of livestock.

I know the club is planning to have our usual meeting there March 11.

Might as well join up and head down for the full tour then (if you can).

Enjoy,

DM

I went there Saturday, made the drive from St. louis, Mo.
I say it's more than well worth the trip to check it out.

It was very clean facility and everything was healthy.
The guys (and gal) on staff were super nice and went out of their way to help everyone out. It's worth going just to see a half dozen 1,200g tanks. Do not wear a jacket or sweater inside.

It can be tricky to find if you don't know Terre Haute!

If you decide to go, PM me and I will give you directions in English. I lived in TH for several years, and well.....

Everyone at Inland knows me. LOL

ok thanks, terre haute is a good drive for me though. i'm alot closer to premium aquatics. is it much better than premium aquatics for sps and other things? if so it might be worth the trip. what are their hours?

The 2 are much difrent. Inland has many tanks and tubs where they grow there corals breed there own fish. If you have never been there it is worth the trip just to see the place. I havent been there for a couple years. I buy most all my dry goods at premium. I buy most of my Corals at sandys in Lousville ky. I live about 30 miles south of indy and am not impresed with the stores in indy at all. I have been thinking about a trip to inland myself in the spring if I can find a baby seter for my sons Maybe me and the wife can make a trip over there.

Premium aquatics rocks my socks when it comes to drygoods and live rock. They have the cheapest and best LR in Indy (IMO). Their corals are super cheap (again, for Indy), but they dont' have the selection of larger places.

Nice thing about PA is that they turnover stock so quickly you rarely walk in and see the same piece twice.
You might also want to try out bryan thompson at www.extremeaquarium.com Don't let the website fool you - they have some of the nicest selections in INDY. And don't forget about the upcoming April frag swap at INDMAS (www.indmas.org). It's going to be big! Details to come later.

I have been to them all and like pa for live rock and dry goods hate the wait though. Sandys for corals. It has been sometime since I have been to inland but just seeing the place has always been worth the trip.

I've found if you order online, and request a pickup, then email them and ask them if such-and-such a time would work for them, you can get in and out of there in 15 minutes, since you can do pickups any day of the week.

I usually go to premium aquatics to get things, but since I've never been to Inland I was thinking about heading down there. I need some live rock though and when I called down there about it since it's not on their website, the lady told me that fiji was 9.99/lb. Is that seriously the price or was she mistaken? Seems awfully expensive to me, and if that's the case I'll just go to PA.
