has anyone out there had there threadfins, apogon leptacanthus, breed for them. my trio was acting funny the other day and I didn't think anything of it and today my largest wouldn't eat and looks like he's holding something in his mouth. he went up to the food when I fed and looked like he wanted to eat but didn't.

Ive never had mine spawn but they are not the best first species to raise(assuming you have no experience) Your threadfin is definitely carrying young. Incubation lasts between 7-8 days. You should use only the small strain rotifers. copepod nauplii greatly increases survival. newly hatch artemia are accepted by the tenth day. Metamorphosis happens gradually and the juveniles begin settling to the bottom at 28 to 30 days.

Good luck

thanks, looks like nobodies been successful raising them past 45 days. I'll just take it as a good sign that the tank's healthy since they're breeding and call the babies extra food.
