2001 vacation to Dauphin Island - Tropical Storm Allison
2005 vacation to Florida Panhandle - Hurricane Katrina
2006 vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC - Tropical Storm Alberto

People are going to start paying us to stay away from places on our vacations... On the plus side, since they're expecting 4-6 inches of rain tomorrow, we're going to Ripley's Aquarium

or vacation in hawaii... :)
i have a vacation planned for florida next month and i'm scared it will be ruined too.

Before the kids came along we did Mexico, Barbados, Ireland, etc. and never had any problems.

Maybe it's a sign from God to leave the kids at home? :D

waah waaaahhh WAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! :p

I haven't even had a vacation since my honeymoon in 2001. Was planning one for next summer, but now that's entirely dependent on whether my wife gets her medical disability or not. If not, we may not even be in this house come this time next year, much less on vacation. And we were planning a June Florida vacation ourselves. Most of the time you're fairly safe in June, but the past few seasons have been bummers. The plans were Seaworld, then bum several days on the beach in Destin. Guess we'll see.

Hope the Ripley's aquarium is good. I've been to the one in TN and it was pretty cool! Take lots of pics. Tell them if they're doing anything wrong. :D (ask to see their skimmer)

My inlaws live on the coast in Florida. They are coming up here in 2 weeks for a visit. Before they leave, they are putting up their hurricane shutters just in case. If something hits while they are here they are afraid of not getting back in enough time to save their house.
It's a tough place to live. We made it through 4 hurricanes before we moved back up here.
