Tiger Shrimp

i wanted a hi fin goby and a tiger pistol pair but had a few questions...

how many gallons do they need, are they reef/coral safe and will they attack my CUC?

i haven't put anything in my tank yet so, i can change the CUC as needed.

I have the same exact pair. They were in a BC14 and now in a BC29. I have a variety of snails, 2 hermits, and a peppermint. No problems at all with them. On occasion, the bigger of the 2 hermits has walked past there. The tiger will grab him and use his shell as a door to their cave. I've seen it happen a couple times already.

No problems with either of them touching my coral. Although once, he did see a frag and took it to use as a door as well.. haha... I made sure to glue the frag to my rock this time.

a couple inch sand bed is more then enough. they will move the sand around to were they want it and yes they still snap often in captivity. i would say a tank of no less then 10g's would be ideal and yes there is a chance it will kill different inverts. other then the possibility of it killing a few inverts they are other wise coral/reef safe.

At first, my guy snapped a lot... Especially at night. You might hear 5-10 snaps a night. Now it's only sometimes... maybe 1-3 times and not every night... When i spot feed them, I use a plastic hose to drop the pellets directly to their door. My pistol likes to grab the tube and snap the tube... But the sound is muted since he's actually snapping on the tube...
