Tiger-tail cuke?

I've got a very active peacock in a 12 gallon bow. He's very well adjusted, as long as you're not a crab, hermit crab, snail, or mussle. Anyway, his dining tastes mean it's difficult to keep the tank substrate clean, aside from mechanical scrubbing and regular water changes. I'd like to put a tiger-tail cucumber from my large tank into the mantis' tank, but before I try this, I'd like to know if anyone else had done this? Do you think the mantis will ignore a cuke, or will it attempt to eat it or just pester it? A dead/dying cuke can be really bad for a tank, so I don't want to put it in if it's a fairly sure thing that it'll be attacked.
