Time to attach

How long does it take for a tiny mushroom to attach to rock? I used some hair netting to hold this $5 mushroom down. Hope it doesn't hurt it but how long should I leave it like this?

When I did Fragging of a mushroom ... I got it two weeks with a thread and then they get caught to the rock.

If your alkalinity is stable and where it should be then a week or two should do it. Some attach in a day or two but others take a bit longer.

I have a large red mushroom that detached after moving around a rock keaving 2 babies. I put it ina jar in the tank with some live rock rubble and in 2 days it was attaching to a piece of the rock rubble.

I use a 2" PVC coupling as a little incubator for my mushrooms. Just stick it into the substrate and place a few small pieces of rock in to cover the entire bottom then drop the shroom in and let it sit there. Placement is usually in a lower lit area like a corner and low flow so the current doesn't sweep it out of the pvc. This seems to be the least stressful way to get your mushrooms to attach themselves to rock. It has worked for me several times. I've had one attach itself in less and a week but have also had one that took 3 weeks to attach itself. Guess it was picky.

I use deli cups placed in a low flow area in the tank and walk away for a week. I suppose if you are concerned the flow is too much it might blow away the mushroom, you can put holes in a lid.
