Okay, after about two months of planning I have started the upgrade. First my step-father and I have been working on a stand for the past couple of weeks. It's 58"x21"x25" which is almost large enough for a 130 but because I didn't look at oceanic's specs until after it was built it's a couple inches short, I'll have to get a custom tank if I choose to go that big. But for now It'll just have my Aquapod sitting on it and in a couple months a 30 cube Seahorse tank.
So now the fun stuff!
Here is the plan....
The QT will have a sponge filter and mollies (I'll feed the babies to the seahorses, if they can eat them... not sure) and a Coralife mini compact for a light.
The Refugium will have a 20" Coralife single strip CF for a light. I'll probably have calerpa so the light will be on 24/7. It will get water from the seahorse tank, so the flow won't be to strong.
What kind of drain (ie: spray bar or just a PVC opening) from the SH tank into the Refugium? And how should I get water from the refugium to the main sump?(I can drill the tank, if that helps)
The Main sump will be a AGA 20 High with an AquaC EV120 for a PS and a mag 7 return pump. I'm using a mag 7 because I will eventually put an Ocenaic 58 on the system in place of the aquapod ( that's why you see "T"s in the drain and return lines) I will eventually put a JBJ artica 1/5 hp chiller on when the SH come, but that's next summer. And maybe a Phos reactor with some carbon and other stuff like that, a Current 25W UV sterilizer, and a JBJ ATO on the main sump as well.
Some more questions
What kind of overflows from the tanks?
I don't know if Oceanic drills tanks. We don't have anyone in town that drills tanks and I don't to drill a tank that is that expensive to replace.
For the aquapod I was thinking of doing this:
Will it work? If not what will?
If you see anything else wrong with the setup let me know!
Oh and I had to buy two of those American DJ Power Centers...So Cool...
Thanks for reading
