well...got some good news and some bad news....

got the 125 swapped to the 180 and it looks awesome

seperated the 40 breeder from the 180 and had it going on its own....moved all the acros into that tank to quarintine and clean them all off, makeing sure no pests get transfered to the new tank. Hooked up the new sump to the 40 breeder and attached the 5 gallon bucket with kalk in it

thats where it starts to go oooohhh so wrong

overnight the 5 gallons of kalk emptied into the sump of the 40 breeder ...I used flex tubing on the return pump and the pump fell on its side and as it did the flex tubing fell on the float valve. when I woke up at 4 am to go to work I noticed the bad smell...thinking it was the 125 just emptied and not cleaned on the back porch I went to work thinking I will just clean the 125 when I got home

By the time I got home from work the stench was worse of course and all the frags and colonies of sps were toast.

I have my plating hydophora and a monti cap that I had cleaned and put in the 180, the only thing to survive was a florecent green hairy mushroom, a frogspawn frag and my orange plate.

sooooooo...needless to say, Looking for frags.....Let me know what is around.

Thanks for letting me vent

Roy

lost a few nice colonies of Green Slimer, Miami Orchid colony,
Green Tort(ish) frag, small roscoes colony, small colony or Pink Millie and Blue Millies,
drawing a blank on others

I just couldn't put them in the 180 yet because the bases had hair algea or mejanos on them and I was going to clean em/clip them and put them all on new bases before moving them. Oh well...live and learn

Let me know what yall have for sale please....

Awesome start!!
Love the woodworking, you must be proud of that set-up. Frags abound so just post what your looking for in the wanted forum and I'm sure you can come up with at least half a tankful..LOL
Seriously though, sorry about the mishap, alot of us have gone thru different scenarios.
Regards

I am moving in mid to late June and have to downsize tanks. I will have several coral colonies that I cant take with me so I may be able to sell you some established colonies for your tank. QT would be up to you, but I have not had a pest in 4+ years due to my own strict QT habits.

Not ready to break things down yet though, so you will have to be patient.

Sorry to hear about the loss. I totally understand about stuck float valves. My experience flooded my living room and warped all the laminate flooring (in a rental house).

BEAUTIFUL tank though!!! I have done similiar designs and may do the same for my new tank.

sorry to hear about your loss, i am rebuilding from losing every sps of mine so have nothing to offer but i feel your pain. best of luck and there are plenty of people on here that will pop up and help you out.

Thanks for all your replies....Rick and Terry (tricky) were very (read VERY) gracious in getting me started with a "few" frags and such. Thanks to Juice and TheGrog for the offers..PM's have been sent.
