Time to worry?

I have had a RBTA going on a week now. At times it will move around, and float around and it looks great. Although there is one rock that it hides under and doesn't look all that great. It has spent the majority of time under there.

How long should I wait, before I get worried that something is wrong with it? I mean they are light loving creatures, but it seems scared of the light? How long does it take for them to adjust to the lights? Could my flow be TOO STRONG? My tank is consideralby brighter than the LFS's lights.

Thanks

Yes the lights that I have are what's in my signature.......floating around is just close to the bottom.....it's not in the column

That's a fair amount of light. Guessing it's trying to get used to them. You may want to shield it from your lights a bit and slowly let it get used to them at full strength. Once it does (assuming all other conditions are in good shape), it should settle in to a spot and stay put.

As far as sheilding it from the light......would it be safe to say that I can just dim the lights so they are not a full strength, or should I employ another approach?

I see no reason why that shouldn't work. That's a featrure I would love to have!

Those that can't dim, usually put some layers of screen material on top of the tank and remove a sheet every week or so.
