a few weeks ago my peppermint shrimp released tons are larvae into the tank... they were all eaten :( but the larvae were fun to look at.. this week I seem to have hundreds of tiny white specs moving around on my glass.. they move fast and in short spurts

here is an image:

curious to know what they are.
Thanks!

these are probably magnified at least 8-12 times.. they are about the size of a sugar granual at best.. most are about half the size of that or they are about the size of the tiny wite specks in the picture here I'm surprised i was even able to get this close of a shot with my cheap little canon elph.

I'd say pods, there are a lot of different kinds but most are good for your tank. mandarines, blennies and anthias love to eat them.

Those are copepods. That narrows the species pool down to a few thousand ;) They are most likely one of several thousand species of harpacticoid copepod. Identifying them to species would be a daunting task, to say the least.
