Titanium Heaters, whats the best?

I also use the JBJ titanium heater with tru-temp controller (which, in turn, is connected to my Apex). So far, so good.

My jbj Tinanium "pro" just melted! Came into the office to the smell of burnt plastic...Good thing I'm just cycling the tank!

I would never buy another finnex but there customer support was good about replacing it. Its the only heater I have ever had fail.

I tested the Finnex HMO series on one of my tanks for about a year (300w on 140g twv) and liked it a lot. I just switched my other 3 tanks over to the same brand a few weeks ago and have had no problems. My only complaint is the length of wire... it is only maybe 3' from the control module to the temp sensor and about the same to the heater and maybe 5' for the wall plug. This makes it fairly restrictive to where you can place the control module; but for the price, I am plenty happy (bought at BRS).

So if I run a pair of titanium heaters with their own controller through a reefkeeper, then I should set the heaters controller a degree or two higher than what I have the RK set at, right? 75 gallon tank with 30 gallon sump, fairly high turnover, so I was thinking one 200 watt heater and one 150 watt heater (350 total watts). Sound about right?? or would it be better to run one 300 watt primary and have the 200 watt as the back up set a degree or two lower?

I'm trying to gather more information on these finnex heaters. I'm interested in the ti heater with the separate controller. My cousin just loves the finnex products and is try to convince me to purchase their heater.
I just started a 5 gal mini reef. Thinking about a 55 gal already or should I just go bigger?

I love the heaters! Best advice i can give you on a 55g is either buy a 75g or 90g! 55 is hard to aquascape because they are so narrow! I have one

Whatever you do i wouldn't buy a finnex, they are absolute junk. I'm on number 3 in a year. Customer service is horrible as well!

My Finnex 500W just died as well. 13 months operation. Trying to decide what to replace it with now. Fortunately I set-up with a 300W Finnex also which is still working. If it craps out as well I'll pull the 150W glass one I bought 20 yrs ago that still works great in my QT tank. JBJ are $$$ but might be the best option for life span. Don't know why heaters are so poorly designed/manufactured these days. Seems the old equipment was much better. Wonder how much China manufacturing has to do with it.

My Jagger is like 12 years old now and I'm thinking I should replace it with a titanium heater.

Anybody care to share what heaters they are having the best success with?

Are you sure they're authentic ones? I've heard there are fake rebranded ones floating around out there. Especially with the controllers ...fleabay is scattered with fakes that say "US SELLER" on the pictures.
