TMPCC- let's chat....

I'd like to hear peoples reports of what they have found when using TMPCC. If you could please share your dosage and if it worked for you or not that would be great. I would like to start using this as a preventetive dip and would like to hear everyones story that has used it. The good and the bad...

i.e. I used 1 gallon of water and 4 pumps of TMPCC and my corals did great and I did or did not see any Nudi's before or after or whatever your experience has been.

Thanks, Jeff

I use this with every incoming coral, probably 50 or more frags so far.

I use it at the reccomended dosage, and 12 min dip time.

I have seen it kill red bugs and pods.

Whiskey

Pumps? like powerheads? None.

I use the reccomended dosage, like 200ML tank water and 1 squirt on the bottle.

I kind of do it to color though, sometimes the first squirt is only a half squirt.

Dosing by squirts doesn't seem very precise to me. Doesn't manufacturer provide a mls/ltr dosage? I always hate it when then say so many drops too because drops can be variable.
Kind of ironic if theyre sellin something called pro coral cure and they think we're comfortable administering by the squirt; doesn't sound very professional to me.

I've used it on close to as many frags as Whiskey mentioned (restocking after AEFW's...). I've dipped Acros, Pocillopora, Monti's (cap's, digi's, danae's, encrusting, etc.), Leptastrea, Acans (lords and echinata), Pavona, and Mycedium with no ill effects. Some will brown up, but I tend to overdose a little and run a 15-20 minute dip. I dip everything, QT, dip again, repeat, repeat, etc. So far so good, but (disclaimer;)) these are not all mentioned as being intended genuses, largely, so there could end up being consequences at some point. My Acros don't react well to Levamisole, but my Montis do fine, so all future acros will be TMPCC dipped. I'm using Levamisole on Monti nudis... Losses are much lower on Monti's (compared to Acro's from same dip, etc.).

I've lost two acro frag after a TMPCC dip, but it and anopther acro were touching and neither was very happy about it. Then they both RTN'd.

It's 1 mL per 200 mL.

i've had 3 frags out of 15 RTN after dipping on different occassions. if i remember correctly, these frags were dipped for 15 minutes. With shorter dips, they seem to do better. HTH

I meant pumps or squirts from the bottle.

Thanks! How are you all measuring your ML's? Syringe?

I dose at 2 to 3 times the recommended dosage. I have seen it kill red bugs and pods. My first stocking were frags from a AEFW infested tank. I took only the tips of the colonies and did a 3x dosage dip, I thoroughly inspected each frag for worns and did not see any. Nor did i find any in the dip. That was over 2 months ago, so far so good. I have not shown any signs of AEFW. I did lose a lot of color. I have a slimer that totally browned out but as of this week is finally showing some color.

Oh and I just go be the pump on the bottle for my measurements. I guess if it is not that precise and I kill a coral I better have killed all the nasties on it too so I am not worried about being a ml off here or there espcially since I am dosing heavy.

I use the pump, since I slightly overdose anyway, but use a syringe when I dose something large (like a gallon or so at a time).

I also overdose.. 3x the recommendation and I've yet to loose a colony... and I let them sit for 20 minutes and use a turkey baster to blast the colony to knock anything off also.

I would estimate about 25 dips and have yet to loose a coral (crossing fingers).

Just my experience.

I've dipped close to 15 corals now in TMPCC. Didn't lose any including a couple very stressed corals I baby sat. I have also used the dip after the frags sat in interceptor for 8 hrs. I have gotten frags from 2 known RB infested tanks and I saw none left after the dip.

I have been using it since it was avail to me locally . Anyways I have had good results using it on AEFW's,RB's and sea spiders. I use it at the recommended dosage. The only corals lost were smoother bodied acros which received the 15min dip.
