to pluck or not to pluck

I got a new frag of pinks three days ago. one of the polyps in the middle of the colony has not opened and looks shriveled and not so nice. Should I pluck it off?

If so, how?

Thank

A picture would be most helpful :) Sometimes zoas just get a little aggravated from being moved into a new tank, but sometimes they end up with something bad too...that's why a pic will help, so that we can tell the difference between the two.

I understand that. unfortunately, my girlfriend has the camera.

It looks differant than the other polyps do when closed (almost as if it was full of something other than a zoanthid polyp. It is puffy, but just looks off.

I know that isn't helpful. If it doesn't open in a week, I think I may just remove it.

Is there any harm in removing a polyp? I was just going to pull it off with tweezers.

I can usually tell if a polyp is fixing to make it's final curtain call if the pods start paying it a lot of attention. I have a polyp that I glued onto a rock about two weeks ago that still hasn't reopened. I think it's a goner; but so far the pods have ignored it, and my pods are ruthless towards any coral that is dying.

If it was mine, I'd leave it alone. If it's bad, the pods will remove it for me. Or you could cruch it's base with the tweezers and remove it. If you do, be sure that you wash the tweezers well with hot water and soap soon after you finish.
Zoo Goo is nasty stuff.
