To UV or not?

How many of you us a UV sterilizer? The ones who use a UV sterilizer. Do you run it 24/7?

I run a UV sterilizer on my 180 reef and my 120 predator. I do run them 24/7. The one on my reef tank hasn't had a new bulb in over a year though so I don't really know if it is necessary. I do keep the one on my predator tank changed though due to puffers and such being more prone to parasites in my experience.

No UV here... It can be beneficial for certain things, but IMO mostly unnecessary...

I have only ever run UV twice in my tanks, both times as a way to decrease parasites in the water column (had ich infections). It worked like a charm both times too! Cleared the ich right up this time. All of my teeny fish survived except 1!
