Toadstool Leather Issues?

Please someone tell me about the threat my new Toadstool leather coarl poses to my tank. since I put it in my tank my giant hairy mushroom as looked awful and i'm wondering if it could be the leather. It is about 4 inches from the leather. Should I keep this leather on the bottom away from everything? Or should I remove it completely?

Any thoughts would be awesome.

By the way everyone here is great. I appreciate all the help I have received so far. This community ROCKS.

Thanks everyone!

It should if you're running enough. I have a 40b with a 20 gal sump and I run about a cup of carbon in my overflow in one of those bags and I change it once a month or when I see things looking a little bit off. My few leathers are doing ok and so are the rest of my corals and the tons of sponges that I have in my tank. They all perked up after I started using carbon.
