toadstool leather not opening

My toadstool leather hasn't opened the last couple days. It has been in the take for over a month now and has been fine, no problems. It is closed up like the lights are off, even when they are on.

first thing, what are the water parameters? Cant really help w/out knowing:

temp
sg (salt level)
pH
amonia
nitrite
(those last 2 should always be 0, so if the tank is cycled, there shouldnt be any)
NITRATES! (you very well could have a nitrate problem...this is the most common problem).

Test for that stuff, and let us know how it turns out

my toadstool does the same and all my levels are at 0 it opens up and closes though but not for like days on end. do they just do it for the hell of it?

Well i've noticed that they dont like certain things...like if i accidentally poke mine w/the tweezers or something, it will not open for a couple days...so maybe its just something like that.

Also, they sometimes shed so maybe thats what yours is doing?

Actually, it started opening back up last night. It was shedding! It has this cobweb looking stuff hanging from it now.

Yeah, they will do that from time to time. I think it's normal behavior.

it's normal, just make sure to give it a good flow, keeping the debris out the top/bottom area.
