that is not a mushroom (Corallimorpharia) it is a toadstool leather http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2013/3/corals .

What kind of light do you have it under and how deep is it, also how long has it been in your tank? Toadstools need some good intense light (and a proper acclimation) to do their best, more actinic lighting (violet and blue) will help the color on that one as well. That looks a little browned out as well but it is hard to tell due to so many diffrent types out there.

Hi thanks for your reply its under a fluval full spec light, i would say it is a little more brown now than when i first got him. But the polyps are white. Ive had him around 3 months.

Does it display green fluorescent if you switch it to the blue moonlight?

I would wager a guess that it is a lack of light. That is not a powerful light. If the toadstool is a morph/species that is the same as mine (and it looks like it) than the flesh should be a light cream color along with bright green polyps.

You could try moving it to the taller rock on the right and observe for a couple weeks. (IMO, it would look good attached to the shadowed part on forward left on the top there, pictures can deceive though)

The problem I have with the fluvall stuff is while it is a nice wide spectrum it is underpowered... It is more than you have though so maybe it will work. Good luck with it all, I am still convinced looking at your reply that it is a lack of light that made it brown out and loose color.
