toadstool trouble

I currently have a toadstool leather that is doing great! the best in my tank. last month I bought another umbrella leather, it came out for a week and then retracted. I did some research and thought that it was going through a growing phase. no biggie. I took some time lapse photos of it, and it is moving. growing slightly, up, down.. etc. three weeks passed and still the same. It still feels leathery. I do not believe that it is dead. I moved it several times. towards the light, towards the bottom (180 gallon tank), in front of the jets, away.. you name it. So, i thought I would buy another one. A green polyp leather. It did the same thing. This one is now two weeks old and the other is pushing a month. no results. I just had to frag my first one because it is getting too big. what do I do? All of my parameters are in perfect range. It is getting more than enough food. It is not being stung by other corals either. please, any ideas.. tips.. I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello,
Are you running carbon in yer system? If not I would recomend that you do so. Leathers put out some nasty chemical defenses that affect other corals including other leathers. They also like good random flow & high light levels.
