The toadstool I have had for 8 years has been in its cuurent spot for 6 months before that it was in a 58g temp tank for couple months and before that it was in same tank its in now sittting higher than it ever was but now less brown and appears to be kinda streching for the light and that is about a foot away from a 250 MH bulb any ideas

Polyps are still open and really does look good just not as brown as it used to be but this did not happen fast. Bulbs ushio 10k are close to year old and getting changed Wed.

Water quality tests?

I would not be concerned. Corlas will change colors overtime. If it is still growing, polyps open, I would not worry.

I have had many large leathers slowly walk up the rock work getting closer to the light. Usually leaving little babies behind.

I have a question on toadstools figured I'd ask here instead of making a whole new thread. I have a 28 nano with metal halides. I'm wanting to add a toadstool, but i'm hesitant because of the metal halide. Think I will be ok to add one? All water parameters are perfect only concern is the light being to intense.

Its a common missconception that leathers, toadstools, sofites, like lower lights. Truth is, they will survive in lower lights, but will thrive in high light.

So, no worries with the halides.

Thanks man! I thought they would be fine just wanted to make sure. The LFS was acting like they couldn't take the halides. They got a nice sized one for 25 dollars so i'm thinking of picking it up tomorrow.

For sure! I saw a thread (not sure if it was RC) this guy in Australia had his secret picking spots and the corals there were incredible!
