Toast or not?

I got this birds nest coral yesterday from a reliable source, I asked him why its white and he told me I couldn't find a good spot for it and it lost its color. He said it might come back hopefully. I took pic this morning under lights and all the polyps are open so I'm hoping it will come back. Any advice on it please? I have not had sps before so this and the plating monti are new territory for me.

Thanks

I'd bet your phosphates are too high for SPS...you have some algae, and your LPS look very healthy along with very happy mushrooms. The SPS will eventually die if not corrected..like with in a week. IMO

Phosphate is 0.5 ppm on my salifert test.
Am intrigued, why would my lps be doing OK with higher phosphate?

Or it could be the opposite phosphate too low

Nitrate 25ppm
Alk 8.0 dkh
Phosphate 0.5ppm
Calcium 410ppm

Nitrate is a bit high admittidly phosphate a bit high compared to optimal 0.03 also.
I have started dosing something called "vibrant" which has been recommended to me, first dose was Monday.

They are less sensitive to it..SPS on the other hand must have low phosphates...the better I manage my PO4, the better my SPS do, but a lot of my soft corals begin to withdraw. Not all of them do, but some certainly do. The fact that you have hair algae is a direct sign that the PO4 in your tank is elevated somewhat. I'd have the water tested at your LFS or a fellow reefer with a separate test, just to be sure.

Obviously your stony corals might be suffering from something else, like calcium, alkalinity or magnesium.

You just don't have a lot of time to figure things out before the bleaching turns to a dead coral.

Do you know what color it's supposed to be??

Here's a pic of two of my bird's nest..

As I said in original post the birds nest was given to me like that, I say given I mean sold to me like that. I only got it yesterday. The monti and birds nest both got from same guy. Am hoping this foray into sps succeeds. I will do a water change when I can get up the lfs for water later this week. They aren't doing tests up there at the moment due to covid restrictions.
I really like the lps corals so worst case I go back to just having them. But I'm hopeful the sps do OK in my tank.

Thanks for your replies I appreciate your time.

I was sent this when I queried the colour.

"Hi mate this is the main colony it's a purple colour with green tips. Could never seem to find the right spot for the frag which I thinks why it's lost its colour. It should colour back up but let me know"

That's a nice color...FYI, most reefers including myself have struggled with BN. Good luck .

Vibrant is your culprit throw that crap away. I've used it twice both times lost coral. Read up on it . There is a lot of negative reviews on that stuff. Garbage!!

Started using it yesterday, I thought it was good stuff?
Will get some rowaphos and do a water change shortly. Will get the phosphate lvl down and go from there.
Thanks for your time.

Honestly .5 phosphate isnt bad. I would just leave it .3 might work for someone's tank but not work for yours. Really anything under 1.0. Your fine. I wouldn't chase numbers. If your corals were happy prior to vibrant I would have let it be

Only using vibrant to try to get rid of gha. Was recommended to me as alternative to flux rx. All my corals were/are doing well, I just wasn't sure about these new sps especially the white one.
