Toby puffers?

I have one ValentinI and white spot toby puffer in my 36 gallon. I have two mushrooms that they don't bother a rasta zoa which has not opened and a new red candy cap coral, have any of you guys had luck with tobies being reef safe? Are they more inclined to pick at the red candy cap coral?

I really wanted to add one to a softie/LPS tank, but it was the cleanup crew I was worried about! From what I have read and from responses I got, these guys typically love to eat snails, shrimp, and hermit crabs.

I had a puffer tank once upon a time but i didnt keep corals with them only macro algae. They would eat all shrimp and try to wipe out all the snail i put in for a CUC.

I noticed if i fed them ghost shrimp once every 3 weeks they seemed to leave other things alone.

Also do not add any more puffers in. My tank didnt make it cause i added a blue spotted puffer (orange tail) added last and he started a royal rumble in the tank.

My valentini seems fine so far with both corals and cuc. I say so far as I expect the cuc to become a target when its larger, coral wise I don't think there will be a problem.
Your braver than me adding 2 in such a small volume.

My Valentini has been reef safe so far, by that I mean it has not nipped at any corals, hard or soft. Zoas, palys, Montipora, birds nest, and a mushroom have all been unmolested. Can't say that about the hermits though. It has killed several hermit and one snail but has left my shrimp alone.

Yeah, they will kill snails and, usually, shrimp. I've kept c. solandri with all kinds of softies and had no issue. I would worry about brain corals or other fleshy LPS, but never tried it.
