Tongan mysery

I've had this austera from Tonga for probably 4 years. When it came it, it was a beautiful lavendar color all over with blue polyps. For a long time I was unable to recover that color, but in the last few months it has been coming around

I had a brief "flash" of color about a year ago using a product that starts with the letter Z, but gave that up quite awhile ago. Not quite sure what I'm doing differently, but several corals are really starting to show some color. Anybody else have Tongan acros that lost and later regained color? I know they're notoriously difficult to maintain color on.

I do know I've had a few acros that just take forever(months) to regain color, whether it be their original color or something different. I actually still have a couple I have had for well over a year I haven't given up on yet:rolleyes:
That's a beautifull Acro Dave.....congrats:)

I've not got any Tongan Acros (that I'm aware of, anyway), but I do have a couple of Tongan WC SM Monti's. One started coloring up within the first two months, but the other one is taking it's sweet time. Neither are as blue as I expect, so there will be more time involved in coloring up...

That is a great color for that acro:). When I saw it, I thought it had to be a product of Z, but guess not. You don't see many that are that light without some sort of extreme nutrient stripping. Love the color, Dave.

Thanks, all. That picture was actually taken with the Z product, but it is almost identical now with a bit more lavendar color. I only point it out to let people know that patience can pay off. Don't give up, I don't believe divers harvest brown corals as a general rule. Tomoko, that's the stag the frag came from you got from me at the swap BTW.
