Too big of a pH swing?

Hello everyone, I have a 28 gallon HQI nano cube and its got quite a bit of SPS coral, all of which are doing very well as far as I can tell, encrusting, and growing. :) I dose 20 ml of each 2 part B-Ionic cal/alk all at once (ie, all 20 ml at once instead of dosing 20ml throughout the day because I don't have a doser.). I decided to see how much my pH will fluctuate after I dose alk/cal. pH went from 8.1 before dosing to 8.5 after dosing but then it would level back out to 8.1-8.2 several hours after I dosed. But I've been doing this for months and everything seems to be doing very very well. PE is awesome, etc. Even tho everything is doing very well, should I get a doser ASAP? Or is the pH swing acceptable?

I would be more worried about any alk swings rather than the pH swing. my 40 is full of SPS and that is a continuous issue.

BTW I miss the old avatar you had. It's been about two and half hours and your dot has not done anything. I will keep waiting tho. ;)

Ah, ok. I'll do some alk testing, before and after I dose and I'll post the results either today or tomorrow.

LOL :p :p
