too many plants

I have way too many plants in my tank and I was wondering how to rid them short of pulling them. They are like weeds now and are infesting the entire tank, I go in and pull them out with tongs, but this is exhausting. Is there anything else I can do? I am about to take the tank apart because I am sick of them. Oh, they are the Halimeda Plant.

Pull them by hand make sure you get the roots. Thats all I know. I grow them in my refugium.

I don't know any other way besides pulling them. As far as I know nothing eats calcareous algae.

my yellow tang eats every thing I get including the halmedia. I had a nice one from Jason was growing a new leaf everynight then one day I saw him take a bite out of a leaf. By morning the little bugger had eaten the whole thing.


Nancy if you throw it away throw it my way. I guess I have to put it in the sump next time I get some though.

If your tank can hold a two barred rabbit i would put one in. They eat just about any type of algae, including halimeda. I have even had them eat valonia.

good idea, would it eat any of my coral or my clam? I have plenty of room, 120 gal with only 2 tangs a clown and 3 damsels.

rabbits are great, and completely reef safe.
