too much carbon possible?

i medicated my tank and want to take the chemical out and was thinking of using a huge box of carbon to take medicine out could this be harmful? and yes i know i shouldn't medicate my tank.

Did you medicate your DT, or are you talking about a QT?

I'd probably do a few fairly large water changes over a week or so, then run carbon...

yes i'm doing water changes but also want to run carbon in case is there such things as too much carbon?

Yes you can add too much carbon. You can change it out more frequently if you are puling medication out, but do not place more than the recommended amount (this will vary with the type of carbon and if it is used in a reactor or simply placed in a bag in a high flow area).

It helps to get the right type of carbon. Get the pellets and skip the granular kind and be sure to rinse well. The pellets have much less dust which gives a little more wiggle room with the amount to use.
