ok, i have a 125g /35g sump .before i added the sump
i had caupulara in the main tank in each corner ,kept it groomed
now i have a sump. i kept the cap in main tank and put some
in sump.every thing was fine then i addded cheato to sump
which is doing great but the cap is fading in color. a water
change can perk it up for a few days but then it fades again.
from what i have been reading i dont think its going sexual.
is it possiable to have too much?i remember reading an article
awhile back where someone was adding iron .can someone
give input on this?

Sounds like something is becoming limited and the water change is replenishing it somewhat. Whatever it is the caulerpa is more sensative to it or atleast quicker to react. I dont believe there's proof positive of what causes caulerpa to sporulate, but it seems likely that its a reaction to move itself to a new environment where conditions are more favorable. It sounds as though yours may be on the way to sporulating, its also possible the cheato is outcompeting the caulerpa for nutrients.

do you think i should pitch the caulpulara?
does any one make a nutrient suppliment?i kinda like the look
of it and my foxface keeps it groomed in dt.maybe ill pitch
the cheato.trates were at 0 with cap someone gave me cheato
w lr puchase.

I think you could keep both of them it may just take a little more work. Take a look at the sticky at the top of this forum for old threads. You'll find some pertaining to dosing. Personally if I had a choice I would keep the cheato over the caulerpa, much lower maintenance IMO.
