Hi
A leopard wrasse does eat other food than pods, a mandarin does not. You will have to feed a lot, to keep the wrasse fat and happy. I personally would not keep a single mandarin, if you have ever seen the mating dance in the blue light just before the lights go off completely you would never attempt to hold them as singles. I will have to break down my tank later this year and leave the country, otherwise there would be a pair in my tank.
If you don't have a leopard wrasse already, get a pair of mandarins. They are easy to sex. The male has an elongated first spine in the dorsal fin, the female does not.
Best wishes
Jens
