Too much light - is there such a thing?

I am considering upgrading the lighting to my 59G reef from 1x175W MH w/ 2x55W PC to 1x400W MH w/ 2x55 or 60W PCs. I am aiming for a SPS dominated tank, with a clam, and currently have two Montipora species in addition to a few soft coral species. I am already considering have to purchase a chiller at this time for my curent arrangement.
Thanks for any and all input.

Unless you are going to use a 20K bulb you really do not need 400W.
If you really would like to upgrade go with a 250W MH system.

And yes, there is such a thing as too much light. Too much lighting can cause bleaching, excessive heat and lighting of corals.
