Top off water

Is it best to dose my auto top off water with calcium and solution to raise the levels closer to whats in my tank or just leave it and keep checking the levels in my tank.

Just top off your tank with pure fresh RO water and then dose your tank with calcium and alkalinity as needed.

I top off with half concentrated kalkwasser (Mrs. Wages pickling lime, 1 tsp per gallon) so that I get away with adding less of the calcium and alkalinity. Topping off with full strength KW would bring the pH too high and too quickly.
