Hi, I have a potential emergency. Over the past few days I observed these little creepy crawlers on my glass. Today I woke up to them on my torch! Which looks retracted and somewhat bleached. Do I pull the torch? How do I ID these nasty buggers, are they hurting the torch? I just had a move a couple of days ago, please help! Here is a link to the entire album! http://imgur.com/a/voFDK#Lb3Miwt

Looks like flatworms. Remove and dip and coral that has them on it, give them a good shake underwater while in the dip, or use a turkey baster to blow them off the coral skeleton. If they are on the glass or sand, I use a piece of airline tubing to siphon them out.

Several species of wrasse will eat them too, if your infestation gets bad think about trying one out. Last resort, Flatworm Exit from salifert will work, I just hate adding chemicals if the natural way is still an option.

Definitely flatworms. I had some come in on a torch one time. Along with dipping the coral, just suck them out with a siphon tube when you find them in your display tank. If you want, you can put a filter sock on the end of the siphone tube, suck a bunch out which will end up in the filter sock, and then just dump the water back into the tank.

I battled them for several months in the display tank until either I won, or their population got large enough that they killed themselves off! But you *can* get rid of them without chemicals. Problem with chemicals is that it will kill them, but you have to remove the dead "bodies" from the tank or the toxins in their tissues will nuke the tank. Pay careful attention to the instructions of any meds you might be tempted to use.
