Torch coral stinging each other?

I have noticed lately that only one of my branches is "being shy", while the other is out and enjoying the current. Can torch sting each other..

I highly doubt it, something else is causing it to do that.

Actually, yes. Various types of euphyllia have various levels of stinging power, torches being some of the most aggressive and powerful IMO.

If at all possible, move the suffering one away a bit and see if it becomes more "normal".

But they are still euphyllia and from what I've read, they don't sting each other, right?

If I am reading the OP correctly, it sounds like it is 2 branches of the same coral so I don't think they can be separated nor do I think they would be stinging each other....unless I'm reading it wrong?

They can indeed sting each other, but it varies drastically between different euphyllia. Seems like torches or torch hybrids have one of the meaner stings.

I misread then. No, I've never seen heads sting each other. Is there anything closer to the suffering head? Different flow? A picture might help.

It must of been the flow and timing, I happened to move my powerhead to the other end and with a different angle and they both have opened up.
