Torch Coral

It's getting too large and I'm running thin on real estate in the tank...6 heads on last count. Would anyone want it (and a porcupine puffer :D ), $20 will take it home.

Sorry for the delay, actually had some appraisal work to do this week! I will post a picture this evening, the fine folks at snapfish have decided to eliminate linking so I have to load it to my server.

If you both want it, to be fair, it will be to whoever PM'ed me first and we'll go from there. (turtles first chance, Bakes2 second).

Two heads are very small, as they had been hidden from the light and were bleaching. I have moved it and they have since colored back up again.

Nice size - how long are the feeders when extended? I moved my chalice back to the frag tank so I have some room in the middle.

The feeders are pretty long, been shocked/horrified to see them stinging my one monti from about 8-10" away.

I kinda thought that might be the case - i don't have quite that much room.. I'll ask around tho.

the torch is sitting happy in my fuge. I'm going to frag it into 4 - the two smaller heads can stay together, the others are going into single heads. There's only one head with obnoxiously long polyps, and it's not too bad in the frag tank because of the flow direction.

Nice piece - glad I could take it off your hands. The monti cap is looking good too - greenish with the acticnics, but I think it's going to be purple when it colors up.

I hate you :D O.k., I hate my nitrates.

Sounds like good plans for the torch...what Dremel attachment/blade do you saw them up with? I've only ever seen it done with a wet saw for tile.

Not sure, I'll have to see how tough it is. I've used the diamond cut-off wheels before, they seem to be the fastest.

I like whiter light, your tank is more blue so there's bound to be coral color differences. I really like the Iwasaki Reef2 bulbs and think they are pretty much the shiznit. More PAR at 175w than most 250s and less heat/energy draw to deal with. :)
