Hi guys,
I have a Torch that seems to be losing tentacles. I thought is was spawning new ones, as they some tiny ones that are really brightly colored, but this morning there is a section that is bare.

Thank has quite a few other torches/frogspawns,duncans, brains etc which are all doing fine.

Any help is appreciated.

It looks like that polyp is about gone. The rest of the coral looks good. Is that pic taken with the lights out? Maybe that's why the healthy polyps look a little retracted? Otherwise it may be in too high of flow.

What is the red down in the skeleton?

That head is gone. Perhaps brown jelly disease (common bacterial infection). If it spread it will kill other heads. If possible I would cut that head off and dip the whole thing.

Here it is with lights on. I don't see brown jelly on it. It's really clean. As for the red marks, it looks like a marker where the LFS fragged it. It's in a few places.

You may not have seen the "jelly".

Not sure I have ever seen a marker.

I have had 2 torch go in my tank and both lost a polyp but that's where it stopped. In my case the torches were fragged the same day i bought them. Not sure if thus was the case with yours. A dip is hardly ever a bad idea.

I do suggest all new corals get dipped. I dip them in coral rx. I've only had one large worm fall out, but that's worth it.
