Torch mystery

So I had a nice Yellow tip torch on a rock for 5 months. I knocked it off one day and it hit the sand head first. It stayed there for a out 5 seconds before I put it back. The next day it would not open and the day after I see brown jelly and the next day it's gone. What happened??

Euphylia are notorious for getting brown jelly disease. Sounds like when you knocked it off it did just enough damage. If it makes you feel anybody I had the same thing happen recently with a wall hammer the size of a human head.

Yeah, once the damage is done, there is little that can be done.
I see people recommending dips such as ReVive for brown jelly.

I've had success on my wall hammer using Hydrogen Peroxide dips. ReVive slowed the Brown Jelly but the H2O2 finally stopped it. I used 1 parts H2O2 to 9 parts tank water for around 10-15 minutes (I used a little more H2O2 than that).

I have read various different concentrations and times for the dip but that's approximately what I tried.

I picked up a crazy coral banded shrimp from LFS that killed my green bubble tip anemone one day--then snipped a torch enough to start jelly a few days later. He's still on time-out in the fuge, might turn him into a cat toy.

Jelly sucks, I tried to remove it every few hours with a baster but unfortunately watched the torch slowly burn-out.
